Hello to All!
We are gearing up for the Team Hailey 5K and finalizing our corporate sponsors. In the past Thrivent Financial has been a wonderful supporter. In order to be considered for funding, I have to submit the names of 6 Thrivent Members that will be participating or volunteering for our event. If anyone is a Thrivent Member and willing to provide me with information, please email me directly at email@example.com.
I need the following information in the email:
1) Thrivent Member Identification Number (found on your Thrivent statement)
2) Full Name
4) Telephone Number
Thanks and Take Care!

The Team Hailey 5k registration is up and running! We have a bit of a new look this year, and an added feature of being able to be a virtual participant and/or fundraiser if you cannot attend in person the day of the event. And this year when you register online, a personal fundraising page is automatically set up for you to use if you choose, which will allow you to more easily reach out to family and friends to support the cause, and qualify for your name to be entered in the drawing for great prizes. This can still be done the good ole fashioned way as well, but now you have a choice.
As always, we encourage people of ALL ages and fitness levels to participate.
For more information on the event you can go to the EVENTS section of our website where you will find more details and the ability to register online or download a registration form and register by mail, or if you prefer to go directly to the online registration page you can click on http://teamhailey5krun.org.
Thanks in advance for your participation...we look forward to seeing many of you at the event, and having another record year of participation. Lets get over 1,000 people this year!!
Quick update on Hailey. Things have been going fine. It appears we did get at least some shrinkage from the last few months of the new treatment. The exact amount is a bit unclear to us at this point, but overall that is obviously great news. We continue on with the treatments every other week. Next MRI is in another 2 1/2 months or so. Hailey has also gained some weight and for the first time in a long time is doing really well in that area. Faith is doing well too. She's loving first grade and doing well in school.

"The sub 20." Under 20 minutes in a 5k run...AKA "The sub 20 club." It's the elite level for totally average runners like me. I've probably only done it a couple times in my life, and it was in my much younger years, and it WASN'T easy! It hurt.
I am definitely not in that kind of shape right now, but this year at the Team Hailey 5k I am going to run a sub 20 if I have to throw up at the finish line doing it. And I need my fellow average runner buddy boys to accept the same challenge with me. That's you Bill Schmolinske, Rick Grable, Johnny Boldt, Cory Colvin, Doug Kohlbeck, Todd Arft, Greg Mader, Brad Nerat, Brent Nerat, Paul Kelly, Joel Fleischman (depending on status of knee), Adam French and any of my other buddies who run a little and/or are willing to accept the challenge.
Now on the surface guys I know this sounds like something you'd instantly want to say No to, or think you couldn't do, but we need this. We need to prove to ourselvs we can still push past what's comfortable. We can still achieve something mentally and athletically that provides some evidence we are not totally over the hill. That we still have that elite level athletic mediocrity we once had.
And the best argument of all, If Hailey and kids like her all over the country can live with pain and suffering every single day of their lives, with no end in sight, we can certainly push ourselves for the next 2 months in training, and then for 19 minutes on April 16th.
Come on boys...who's up for the challenge? We'll all do it together, as a group. A wild pack of buddy boys tearing up the course at an average of 6 1/2 minute miles. We're gettin old, but we're NOT DONE YET!
In the words of Kanye..."that, that don't kill me, can only make me stronger."

We are on about 3 treatments in a row now where Hailey has gotten sick after. The last 2 she threw up in the car on the way home and then into the night once we got home. Not sure if this has become the new norm or not. Early on this happened, then we went on a stretch where she did not get sick (just a little off in energy and mood), and now we are back on where she has been getting sick for about a 1/2 a day after and also off in energy and mood for a couple days.
On a lighter note, the Sub 20 Club is set for the Team Hailey 5K on April 16th (see last journal entry). Looks like we have a group of about 7 or 8 of us that will be taking on the challenge. Training is underway. It's going to hurt bad.
