Dear Haily, I would love for you and your family to meet a little girl - Paige Becker. She is my now 10 y/o grand-daughter. At the age of 4 she was diagnosed with a Grade IV Glioblastoma Brain Tumor. She was given only a 5% survivial rate. The surgeon told us she would be dead in 6 months. We refused to believe that and fought to find treatment. Our journey was horrific, but worth every painful second as Paige is now a healthy 10 y/o child with only minor residual side effects from the 2 crainiotomies, stem cell transplants and year long chemotherapy. At a time when you feel there is not hope, reaching out to someone that has survivied horrific news such as yours may be able to provide some comfort.
