Hey Shan and Brian - I am so sorry to hear the news of Hailey's MRI results. I was so hoping to hear good news. It sounds like you have a great plan to move forward and see if there are other options out there for Hailey. I sincerely hope so. I miss you and wish I could see and be there for you more. We are so sorry to hear of Hailey's MRI results. During our situation, we sent our information to doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX for a second opinion. New sets of eyes, new opinions, etc.....and they were wonderful to work with. You all have been so strong and we hope and pray that you will continue to find the strength in this battle. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers always! Hang in there. Tara and John.

Brian and Shannon, I'm so sorry to hear about the update on Hailey. I was hoping for the best for you. This hits home as my oldest Grace also needed a shunt due to her enlarged ventricles and her spinal fluid was not able to be absorbed correctly. I do not know who your doctors are in Madison, but Dr. Iskandar is our neurosurgeon and performed the surgery on Grace at Madison. She had several surgeries during her first year and a half and he was absolutely wonderful to her and our family. Grace is doing great with her shunt ever since. I realize that Hailey has a lot more going on here than Grace did, but a shunt is definitely manageable. I hope this comforts you just a bit with respect at least to this new development. I know we have a second opinion program here - I think it's $500 -$1000??? for them to look at her record. I can get you in touch with the right people if you decide to send to Hopkins.
