hi Friends! Love the pics with pixies, princesses, umbrellas (Shannon, I'm glad it's you under Hailey's umbrella instead of me - I think I'd be on my knees!) and the family together - but what's that fuzzy stuff on Brian's chin? it's great you had such a super trip. Glad to hear Team H is doing so great. Thanks for the updates! John

Ohhhh, what a relief! Too bad the weather didn't co-operate on the way home, though. Darn snowstorms in Wisconsin. The run results are so impressive and it's always good to see Hailey enjoying all the people and activities going on. And Faith even beat my time again! I'm going to have to work on that so the little squirt doesn't keep doing that to me. Hoping the "send-off" last nite went well and the girls are excited for Disney! I'd like to be a little mouse in your pocket to watch their faces there. Such joy it will bring. Love to all, Aunt Krissie

Good news! I'm so happy to hear that Hailey's tumor is not growing at this time. She is such a beautiful girl, and it was so nice to finally meet both her and Faith on Saturday. Oh, and Brian...22 minutes is awesome! I"m just so happy that I ran the whole way! Here's to both of us improving next year! Our thoughts and prayers keep coming your way...:)

Brian and Shannon, I have been thinking about you guys especially the last few days since we just had a lecture in our Tumor Immunology class from a MD/PhD studying DC based tumor vaccines for brain tumors. He works mostly with GBM patients, but I spoke with him after class, and he said he would be happy to talk with you if you have any interest. He is using a technique I have not heard of before with loading DCs with tumor mRNA, and it sounds hopeful. The problem is you need some cells from tumor for this to work. From what I understand Hailey's situation would not safely allow for this. Additionally, they have diluted out samples from large cell numbers and still obtained positive results, but have not tried directly from very small biopsy cell numbers. Anyways, please contact me if you have any interest in his science and the future it could potentially hold. He was a great guy and would be an interesting resource if you are interested. Take care and wishing you all the best! Cousin Shelley

Hello! Happy to hear that your trip was worthwhile and that the girls had fun! We would have rather had you say you had been at Disney World--of course! So sorry Hailey has been getting sick from her treatments. As the walk approaches let us all keep in mind that we are walking for research to bring kinder and gentler treatments and even better research to find a cure both for Hailey and all the other kids! Love YOU! Jeri & Tony

Poor Hailey--maybe they can back down on the CPT-11, the major culprit when on that with the Avastin protocol. Or be sure to get Zofran or one of those in her early on. We had the same thing early then about midway. Hope it is better next time. Hope she is putting on some nice weight!!! Thanks for all your fundraising efforts--let's stamp out JPA's!!!!! blessings, terri & family www.caringbridge.org/visit/gageburi

As the mother of child who had JPA & subsequent surgery for the same, I am supportive & sympathetic of what you are going through. Our son was left with some deficits after the surgery, but he has no cognitive deficits, just physical ones. Those are the ones most folks see, and if they don't know the whole story, quick to judge. I hope & pray for your family and especially Hailey for a cure & certainly less invasive treatments soon. I work weekends, so will not be able to join the walk, but I will pledge money for her cause.
